Dynamics Ax Reports with Calibri font

A customer of mine asked me to change the font of some reports to Calibri. It all went well until we saved a report as PDF, there was way too much spacing between characters.

After some days of investigating and contact with Microsoft I’ve found out that it worked on a Windows Server 2008 R2 and the Calibri font files were almost double in size. So I replaced the font files with the ones from Windows Server 2008 R2 and the reports are working like a charm. 🙂

  1. Thanks, I was looking for this solution.
Our customer also experienced this BUGy layout.

    • You can always use the embedded font PDF option when generating a PDF from AX reports.

      • Hi Al,

Thats the first thing I’ve tried and what Microsoft told me to do when I had logged an issue about this. Still it didn’t generate correct PDF’s.

  2. Thanks for this post Kevin, but can you clarify what exactly you did? I’m running Windows Server 2008 R2 and having the exact same problem. I’m using a QuickAddress font and while it looks fine in my AX report, when I save it as a PDF it adds lots of space between the characters.

  3. What OS are you running on the client computer?
In my case the clients where running on XP so I updated all XP machines with the calibri font files that I copied from the Server 2008 R2 machine.
Because I’ve noticed that these were larger.
